I think i got the paddle you talked about that looks like a Vatic. I have a Vatic and i also got the amazon brand for my wife. She was okay with playing with a cheap 10 wood paddle, and i was like nahhhh. On a rare occasion where shed actually come to an open play w/ me, i just know people would look at that paddle and not want to play with us lol. So I got her the best cheap paddle i could find under $100. I wasnt expecting alot from it, but now its my main paddle and the wife gets the Vatic 😅. It has less power then the vatic, but offers more control which is what i needed for my game personally. Anyway its the yvmove t800. Gonna sign up for my first tournament with it.
But regardless, my advice for any beginner is to pick up whatever cheap paddle that is accessible to you. If you become a good player with that kind of paddle, you’ll be even better with an upgraded one in the future. If you just suck at pickleball… a good paddle will help a little, but in this economy is that even worth it? 😂
